Network Licence

- Registering other PCs as clients.

You may need it if the licence is transferred to another computer in the future.Double-click on the file to commence the installation. You will be prompted to accept the licence agreement, then a See5 / Cubist folder will be created in the server's Program Files or Program Files (x86) folder (depending on whether the server is running 32-bit or 64-bit Windows). This See5 / Cubist folder will be referred to as the home folder.
What's in the home folder?
The home folder contains the following files of interest:
See5.exe / Cubist.exe | the main executable file (32-bit)
See5x64.exe / Cubistx64.exe | the main executable file (64-bit)
See5X.exe / CubistX.exe | the batch version of the executable (32-bit)

Setting permissions and sharing
File permissions
All files in the home folder must be accessible to all potential users.
Sharing the home folder on the network
- Right-click on the home folder, select Properties, and then the Sharing tab.
- Click Advanced Sharing and check Share this folder.
- Click Apply, OK, then OK again.

After See5 / Cubist has been installed, run the program as administrator on the server by right-clicking the See5.exe / Cubist.exe executable in the home folder and select Run as administrator. Then enter the licence ID when requested; please ensure that the ID is entered correctly, including the spaces between groups of four characters and the terminating hash sign. The licence ID will then be permanently installed for all users.
Registering client PCs
After the system has been installed on the server, it can be registered on any PC that can access the server over a local area network. Here's how to register See5 / Cubist on a client PC:
- Make sure you are connected to the network.
- Find the server through Network in This PC. (Note: The server may be mapped to a drive letter on your machine. If it is, do not use this letter to reach the server -- you must find the server through the network.)
- Open the home folder on the server.
- If the client is running 64-bit Windows, you have the option to install either the 32-bit or the 64-bit versions of the executables. You can install the 64-bit versions even if the server is running 32-bit Windows. Run Install.exe for 32-bit or Install64.exe for 64-bit.
- If all goes well, the application will create a folder on the client's
desktop called See5 or Cubist respectively.
This user folder contains a shortcut to the executable files on the
server (omitting the ``x64'' for 64-bit), a local copy of the on-line help, and a sample applications folder.
Registration will also place shortcuts to the system executables in the client's
Start Menu.
You may see a message warning of a problem setting up registry entries for the built-in help for See5 / Cubist. If you see this warning, you can still use the on-line help in the local folder.

is running.
